RSC Diversity Committee Teams with ACR To Promote Communities Crushing Cancer!

RSC actively participated in the “Communities Crushing Cancer” initiative that was held at various radiological departments and healthcare facilities throughout the country on Wednesday, October 30. The Communities Crushing Cancer (CCC) program is a dynamic, resident-led initiative to raise cancer awareness and increase cancer screening rates.

The RSC Diversity Committee and the RSC Executive Director Linda Kowalski, partnered with Carla Brathwaite, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager with the ACR, to bring this to initiative and event to Connecticut.

Diversity Committee chair, Michele Johnson, M.D., organized an event at Yale New Haven Health with residents staffing a table with literature and tee shirts to meet with patients and promote the benefits the early cancer screenings.

We want to give a special shout-out to residents at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Johnson, and to Dr. Sarah Rosasco, young physician chair, who also promoted the event in other locations where residents practice and Rob Goodman, Chair of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, Yale New Haven Health. Special thanks to Dr. Perez Lozada, the vice chair of diversity and inclusion in the department of radiology and biomedical imaging at Yale.
